The Release Candidate 1 (RC1) for the public testnet is up and running, and we encourage our community to partake in testing!

What is Hybrid Network?

Hybrid Network is a community of developers specialising in Blockchain technology. They are aiding in the development of various aspects of the Hcash platform, such as quantum resistance — in which the team have a background. We are coordinating with the Hybrid Network team in order to align all of their targets and work with features outlined in the Hcash whitepaper.

Why Hx?

Hx is the name for the RC1 testnet repositories, and the working name for the testnet. The idea for the name came from H(x), a composition of two mathematical functions, representing hybridisation, and the intent to focus on interoperability and community inclusion. The ‘x’ can also be seen as a variable which can be replaced with any addition to, or evolution of the ecosystem.

We will soon release a set of guides to help our community participate in the public testnet, which will be posted on Medium.

In these guides you will find step-by-step instructions on setting up a test node and a wallet using command lines, in both written and video form.

The following is a set of basic instructions and information you may need, sourced from Hybrid Network’s RC1 Instruction Guide:

If you find any issues, please submit a report via GitHub through the issue tracking page. Basic reporting information should include date, summary of the issue and suggested work around (if any).

Build from source for Windows, Linux and MacOS

2.) This involves creating environment variables, dependencies, and installing go, git, and glide

GUI Wallet (alpha) for MacOS

1.) Visit hybridnetwork/hxify README.md (https://github.com/hybridnetwork/hxify/blob/rc1.0/README.md)

2.) On macOS, double-click the .dmg file, drag the .app to your Applications folder

3.) Double click on hxify.app to start

4.) From there follow the on-screen instructions to setup your wallet

Hx Stakepool (alpha)

1.) Sign up for the staking pool at http://stakepool1.testnet.hybrid.network

2.) You will need to verify your email account, so please check your spam folder if you do not see it received through your inbox

3.) Once logged in, follow instructions as to how you can setup your public address for staking at http://stakepool1.hybrid.network/address
