The following is 10 steps explaining how users with Windows computers can enable staking on their desktop wallets.

Please ensure you follow each point in a step-by-step manner.

Step 1:
Open your Hshare wallet application, unlock your wallet and check the box ‘for staking only’.

Note: Unlock your wallet by going to ‘Settings’, and then clicking on the ‘Unlock Wallet’ tab.

Step 2:
Ensure that your wallet is closed.

Step 3:
Open your Local Disk C:\

Note: Not all (C:) drives will be named ‘Acer’, this only occurs because the system that was used to write this tutorial was an Acer.

Step 4:
Enable ‘hidden files’ AND ‘File name extensions’ so you can access your ‘AppData’ folder, and enable staking.

Note: To enable this on Windows 10, click the ‘View’ tab at the top left of your folder screen, then tick the ‘Hidden items’ and ‘File name extensions’ boxes. By default, these files and their extension information is hidden. This file is necessary to access because it is the only way to reach your wallet files, while file name extensions are necessary to change as you’ll need to create a config file (later on in step 6). This tutorial is only for Windows 10 PCs. For information on how to access this information for your operating system, please Google ‘how to find the AppData file in [your operating system]’, and ‘how to display file name extensions in [your operating system] respectively.

Step 5:
From here, enter Users\Admin\AppData\Roaming\HShare

Note: The ‘Admin’ file refers to the name of your administrator account (rather than ‘Admin’, this is usually your computers username).

Step 6:
After entering the Hshare folder location, create a new text document, and name it ‘hshare.conf’.

Note: Ensure you rename the file ‘hshare.conf exactly, as this name and file type is the only way to begin staking.

Step 7:
Open your new ‘hshare.conf’ text document using notepad, and type ‘staking=1’. Then save and close the document.

Step 8:
Repeat step 1 and open your Hshare wallet application, unlock your wallet and check the box ‘for staking only’.

Note: Unlock your wallet by going to ‘Settings’, and then clicking on the ‘Unlock Wallet’ tab.

Step 9:
Wait a few minutes until your wallet shows that you’ve begun staking.

Note: Check this by hovering your mouse over the green upwards arrow.

Step 10:
Begin staking!

Disclaimer:
We strongly recommend backing up your wallet after every transaction to ensure the safety of your coins. Additionally, you’ll actually need coins in your wallet to receive staking rewards, and to receive rewards you’ll most likely need to have a significant amount of coins. This is why we suggest joining our mobile PoS mining pool for more consistent returns. There, you’ll be able to receive daily rewards based on the percentage of what you’re staking in the pool.

We hope that this tutorial has helped you clearly understand how to enable staking on a windows Hshare wallet.
